HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MISMATCHED PRINTS

We are just one week away from Spring and while it doesn’t yet feel like it, I am ready to get the show on the road by throwing off all of Winter’s clothing layers. Polka dots and Stripes had a huge moment on the runway for Spring 2018 and it seemed only right to find a way to work them both for the new season, ย in addition to the fact that I have recently taken a keen interest in all things Polka dotted (Thanks Jacquemus!).

I love Fashion because of the liberty of expression attached to it hence the ability to mix random colours and Prints. My first approach to mixing prints is the colour palette, going for colours in the same colour scheme. This helps to cohesively blend the mismatched prints.

Another approach to wearing mismatched prints is setting a theme for the prints, geometrical and tropical are two of my favourites and for this week I have gone with the Geometrical theme by pairing polka dots with stripes in both pieces by Zara.

Being pear shaped, I went for smaller sized prints to compliment my shape. To finish off the look I went with stiletto umps by Louboutin , a metallic bag by Valentino and Wayfarers by Celine. Here’s to Spring and getting away in mismatched prints!x
