It’s quite hard to remember what Gucci was like before Alessandro Michele came on board as the creative director. I loved the work of Frida Giannini who was the previous creative director but I have to admit he has taken Gucci to a whole new level and the positive financial reports for the heritage brand can testify to it.

For the Resort 2018 collection, the brand headed back to the city Florence where it was founded by Guccio Gucci to showcase its Renaissance inspired pieces. It was only right to stage the show in the city which has been dubbed the cradle of the Renaissance.

The show featured a magpie of his signature quirky and gem embellished pieces. The looks that stood out to me were the mixed print pieces, the multi coloured lace look as well as the monogrammed pieces…the monogrammed tights are everything πŸ‘ŒπŸΎπŸ‘ŒπŸΎ.
