PARIS: SIGHTS, FOOD, SHOP AND SLEEP

Five years after my first visit to Paris, I decided to head back  for a revisit to the city of Love. While I got to see a lot during my first visit, my plan was to see new sights as well as revisit places I had previously seen from a different Angle.  Check out my Parisian travel diary!x

WHAT TO WEAR

For this trip, I decided to go with the Parisian staples a la Caroline De Maigret’s How to be Parisian. Beret, fisherman hat, Leopard print, breton stripes, Chanel Ballerinas were my go to’s for this trip

Beret: Ralph Lauren//Scarf: Versace// Coat: Marks and Spencer// Jumper: Zara //Skirt: Karen Millen//Bag: Ralph Lauren//Ballerinas: Chanel

Sailor Hat: Topshop //Sunglasses: Celine//Top: Wolford//Faux fur Stole: F.Campbell (contact to order)

Sunglasses: Loewe //Neck tie: Burberry//Top: Zara//Coat: Hobbs: Jeans: J Brand// Slip on: Miu Miu

WHERE TO STAY

Paris is known for being superrrrrr expensive. However if you book your hotel well ahead of time, you would definitely be able to secure a great hotel at a bargain price. I have been using Booking.com for the past couple of years and I have been able to book amazing hotels even at discount price. For this trip, I stayed at the Sofitel Paris Baltimore Tour Eiffel, just a stone throw from the Eiffel tour. For the total Parisian experience, I recommend getting a room with a traditional French balcony with great views.

WHAT TO SEE

Having been before, I briskly browsed through my favourite spots, Musee du Louvre,  La Seine river with the view of the Grand Palais and the Tuileries Garden

Sacré Coeur Basilique Montmartre Paris

While I admit the Notre Dame cathedral is beautiful, the Sacré Coeur Basilique is amazingly breath taking. Set on a hill in Montmartre, the architecture, interior and ambiance made the distance I commuted to see the cathedral all worth it. Walk around the quaint village for mulled wine and amazing views of Paris

Sights about town

I am utterly obsessed with the furniture used in Parisian cafes as well as Parisian architecture

WHERE TO SHOP

I totally recommend Place Vendome and Rue Saint-Honoré for an unforgettable  luxurious shopping experience

WHERE TO EAT

You can’t go to Paris without trying Ladurée’s famed macarons

Pangs of hunger led me to the delightful Francois Felis on Rue Bossy d’Anglas. The truffle cheese pasta was amazing!

Another staple you have to try ESCARGOTS! a.k.a Snails

Every street corner provides the opportunity for savoury crepes and boy did I indulge

AUREVOIR Paris, looking forward to coming back soon!x
