I can’t remember the last time I wore anything with ruffles as I am usually thrown off by pieces with a lot of details because of my physique. However this season it’s almost difficult to get past the ruffle mania going on and although I love to stick to classics, every now and again I like to take a dip in the trend pond…its no fun always sticking to the rules lol.
For this look, still conscious of not going over the top with the ruffles I took a demure approach with an all black look in a ruffled blouse from the trend section at H&M tucked into a ruffle detailed pencil skirt I made last week.
Pear shapes like me are always advised to opt for a-line skirts instead of pencil skirts but I found that the diagonally placed ruffle detail created an illusion of an hour glass shape balancing out my torso and lower body…a classic example of when stepping out of the norm goes well lol.
For accessories I threw on more black with stilettos by Jimmy Choo, a clutch by Mango and sunnies by Celine – go on get your ruffle on!x
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend
